Acrylic on canvas
This painting won an Honorable
Mention in Artucs Art Contest (Porlamar, Margarita Island, Venezuela, June
2015) for its mastery of color and composition.
Short curves and other finely defined geometric figures in each fragment
intertwine with the brightness and vibrational frequency of vivid color. This
aesthetic is reminiscent of the XX century primitive arts combined with
psicodelic art. One can see overlapping shapes and colors splaying the canvas.
Not only does this type of work require hours of delicate work, the details are
meticulously cared for to evoke a deep sensitivity for "the little
things." Nothing is rejected, one
is called to experience the integrative experience of color itself.
Gladys Mendía.
